  • What We Believe

We believe in living the life we profess. We are not perfect and make no claims of such. However, we do pray. We fast. We study God’s Word. We attend church. We tithe. We are accountable to God and each other. We seek the guidance and direction of the Holy Spirit in every area of our lives. We give God the glory for every aspect of our lives.

We believe in doing our very best in every endeavor we attempt. Colossians 3:23 says, “And whatever you do, do it heartily, as to the Lord and not to men.” See also Colossians 3:17 and 1 John 3:18. Ephesians 4:1-3 summarize it best, “I therefore, the prisoner of the Lord, beseech you to walk worthy of the calling you which you were called, with all lowliness and gentleness, with longsuffering, bearing with one another in love, endeavoring to keep the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace.”

We believe that Scripture is the Holy Word of God, inspired by God, and the source of all truth and power. We believe that Scripture is the manual for life and that anyone who seeks to understand and live by scripture will know and be characterized by such qualities as peace, joy, hope, patience, discipline and, most importantly and abundantly, love!

We believe that pornography is a spiritual problem. We believe that pornography is sin. We believe that pornography is a weapon the enemy uses to separate men and women from the knowledge of and relationship with God. We believe society’s efforts to normalize pornography and minimize its’ devastating effects to be a lie. We believe that Satan uses pornography to demean men and women, erode families and destroy lives.

We believe that anyone can live a life completely free from pornography. We believe that the sin of pornography can be forgiven, lives renewed, families restored and lasting peace to be a way of life!

What do you think Jesus would say to a Porn star?

An interesting question in light of today's culture and the prevalence of pornography.

Jesus was presented with a woman caught in the very act of adultery and was subject to death according to the law of that time (John 8:1-11). His response was very startling to the crowd who had obviously already condemned her by virtue of the stones they were holding and were quite prepared to kill her. No, instead of joining in with the crowd, Jesus asked those gathered around her to identify which of them had no sin! When all of the crowd had dispersed one-by-one, He then asked the woman, "Where are your accusers?" After she acknowledged that there were none left, Jesus said, "Neither do I. Go and sin no more."

The Bible says that God is the "same yesterday, today and forever" Hebrews 13:8. Consistently, Jesus would likely have a similar discourse with a porn star. Like the woman caught in sexual sin that was punishable by physical death, Jesus identified the spiritual aspect of her sin, spoke to the root cause of the issue in that passage, forgave her and pointed the way forward for her life of peace, joy and victory.

When speaking with a porn star it is very reasonable to think that Jesus would address the spiritual issue the person was dealing with. Perhaps some past sexual abuse. Maybe demonic oppression or even possession. Regardless of the exhaustive list of why someone might chose to engage in such behavior, Jesus would speak to the heart of the matter. Jesus forgave the woman caught in adultery and there is an abundance of mercy and pardon for anyone who would turn to Him. He also told her to sin no more, which is the path for a life of victory over whatever sin a person might be struggling with.

Most importantly, what would Jesus say to you? Maybe your not a porn star but are you actively participating in watching pornography, even casually? While you are likely not subject to physical death like the woman in John 8 you are dying spiritually as a result. So, again, what would Jesus say to you? There is an abundance of mercy, forgiveness and grace to anyone who turns to Jesus for salvation, deliverance. Notice He also told the woman to sin no more! Do you think He would have told her that if there was no way she could have accomplished what He said? Of course not. God's Word will make you free from any bondage, curse or any other kind of sin that separate's us from God. Like the woman in John 8, you, too can "go and sin no more."
